She is happily married to Radamés Cedeño since May, 1990 and from this union, they have been blessed with two wonderful children: Radamés Stephen y Denise Valeria.
Pastor Denise was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico. Her love for children and families inspired her to study and obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in Child Psychology from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico and also acquire a certification from the Board of Education of the State of Florida to teach children with Special Education. At present time, she is pursuing a Master Degree in Children, Youth and Family Counseling at Wesley Seminary University. Also she is an Ordain Minister of Assembly of God.
Pastor Denise in conjunction with her ministry coordinators and leaders, are responsible for the Spiritual Formation thru biblical instruction of the following Children Ministries: My First Steps, Sunlight Kids, Jumpstart, Buddy Break, Royal Rangers, Girls Ministries and Calvary Christian Academy & Preschool.
She believes wholeheartedly that if children could be taken more seriously, if we would not minimize their intelligence and potential to internalize and find healing and forgiveness at an early age, our communities, cities, and states would benefit from young people willing to sow into others what they have received (Matthew 10:8). Pastor Denise states, “That we need to envision them as disciples in formation, waiting for the right time to manifest God’s extraordinary power through them, ready to be used not tomorrow, but today. We need to recuperate access to the hearts and minds of our children, and as we do, they will transform the world”. Her ministry philosophy is that our children need a biblical worldview education that will allow them to develop their faith through the systematic and applicable study of God’s Word making them disciples of Christ. She goes on to say, “We must cultivate their spirituality, instruct them for leadership, and instill in them a desire to be doers of God’s Word, by going out to serve others and not just listeners. In order to accomplish this it must be a joint effort between members of the family and the church. One of her favorite verses in the Bible that supports her philosophy is 2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work”.
